Emirates has officially confirmed plans to equip its entire operational fleet with Starlink-powered high-speed Wi-Fi, offering the service free of charge to all passengers. The rollout will begin in November 2025, starting with the Boeing 777 lineup, and is expected to be completed by mid-2027.

This upgrade positions Emirates as one of the first major airlines to adopt Starlink onboard at scale, following Qatar Airways, which launched its first Starlink-enabled Boeing 777 last year.

Ultra-Fast Internet for All Passengers

The airline says Starlink will provide “ground-quality internet” at cruising altitude, enabling travellers to stream videos, play games, make voice or video calls, browse social media, and work during their journey. The service will be available across all cabin classes, including economy, with a single-tap login and no payment requirement.

Fleet Installation Timeline

Emirates plans to upgrade all 232 in-service aircraft over a two-year period. The first Starlink installation has already been completed on a Boeing 777-300ER (registration A6-EPF), which is currently showcased at the Dubai Airshow for live testing on the ground.

After the Airshow, the aircraft will return to commercial flights, kickstarting the gradual fleet-wide activation. Emirates will install Starlink on around 14 aircraft per month, with Airbus A380 upgrades scheduled to begin in February 2026.

Technical Setup and Features

Each Boeing 777 will be fitted with two antennas, while the Airbus A380 will receive three antennas per aircraft — a first for any airline — to ensure strong and consistent connectivity.

Emirates also plans to introduce Live TV streaming over Starlink, initially for personal devices. Support for seatback screens is expected by late December 2025.

Free Access for Everyone

The airline has confirmed that Starlink Wi-Fi will remain 100% complimentary, regardless of fare type or Emirates Skywards membership. The service is designed to be seamless, requiring no additional login steps or subscription.
