Google Photos is rolling out powerful new video editing tools across Android and iOS, making it easier to create polished highlight videos with templates, custom music, text overlays, and an intuitive redesigned editor.

The standout addition is highlight video templates, now available on Android under Create → Highlight video. Users simply pick a preset format—complete with beat-synced music, text, and cuts—select their photos and clips, and Google Photos auto-generates a ready-to-share video. More templates are on the way to expand creative options.

Both platforms get a revamped editor with a simplified layout, universal timeline for multi-clip projects, and adaptive canvas for seamless navigation. Music selection is improved for effortless soundtrack browsing, while Android users gain custom text overlays featuring fresh fonts, colors, and backgrounds. Single-clip editing is also enhanced as the new default interface, supporting trims, music, and text adjustments.

These features are either live now or rolling out gradually, streamlining video creation without needing third-party apps. This update positions Google Photos as a more versatile tool for turning memories into professional-looking reels.
