Rockstar Games has officially delayed GTA VI once more, pushing its release date to November 19, 2026. The game was previously set to arrive in May 2026, following an earlier delay from its original Fall 2025 window — meaning the launch has now been postponed by a full year.
In a post on its official X account, Rockstar said the delay will “allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.”

We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and… pic.twitter.com/yLX9KIiDzX
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told The Game Business that the decision was made to ensure GTA 6 delivers the best possible experience. “If a game requires more polish to be the best version of itself, then we will give it more time,” he said, adding that the company “feels really good” about the new release date.
While the delay has disappointed fans, many are hopeful Rockstar will release a new trailer soon to make up for the wait.
