Xiaomi has officially launched its first electric car, the SU7, in China. This sleek four-door sedan directly competes with established names like Tesla and boasts impressive performance figures and features.

Variants and Design:

The SU7 comes in four variants: SU7, SU7 Pro, SU7 Max, and a limited Founder’s Edition. All variants share a stylish design with dimensions of nearly 5 meters in length and 2 meters in width. Standard features include 19-inch Michelin alloy wheels.

Performance and Range:

The top-of-the-line SU7 Max boasts a staggering top speed of 265 kmph and can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in a mere 2.78 seconds. Its range on a single charge is an impressive 810 kilometers.

The limited Founder’s Edition takes performance even further with a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup delivering nearly 1000 bhp and a 0-100 kmph time of 1.98 seconds.

Battery and Charging:

Xiaomi offers two battery options in partnership with CATL: a 73.6 kWh pack for base variants and a larger 101 kWh pack for the top model. Both provide at least 700 kilometers of range. An even larger 150 kWh battery promising a 1200 km range is planned for next year.

The SU7 supports ultra-fast charging with 486V and 871V architectures. With just 15 minutes of charging, it can travel up to 350 kms or 510 kms depending on the architecture.

Technology and Features:

The SU7 is packed with technology, featuring Apple CarPlay and iPad connectivity. Xiaomi SU7 Comes with Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) including Xiaomi Pilot Pro and Xiaomi Pilot Max. A pilot-assisted driving feature called City NOA will be available in select cities initially, with nationwide expansion planned.

Pricing and Availability:

The SU7 comes in three main variants with pricing starting at:

  • SU7 Standard: 215,900 yuan (approximately Rs. 25.34 lakhs)
  • SU7 Pro: 245,900 yuan (approximately Rs. 28.86 lakhs)
  • SU7 Max: 299,900 yuan (approximately Rs. 35.20 lakhs)

Deliveries for the SU7 and SU7 Max are expected by the end of April, while the SU7 Pro arrives in late May. Early bird bookings come with car purchase benefits worth 22,000 yuan until April 30th.

With its competitive pricing, impressive range, and feature-rich technology, the Xiaomi SU7 is poised to be a major contender in the electric car market.
